PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional technique for deploying an airbag without interference with an opening of an instrumental panel when the airbag is deployed, breakage onto an instrumental panel surface when the airbag is deployed is prevented, and collision to an object at the initial stage of deploying the airbag is not prevented when the airbag is closely deployed (at an out-of-position). SOLUTION: In this airbag for a front passenger seat, an airbag device a container part 1 housing a folded airbag 4 and having an opening on a side opposed to an instrumental panel surface panel; and a deployment door part with a predetermined breakage part on the instrumental panel surface panel covering the opening. A deployment restraining piece 2 swollen toward a center of the opening extends at an intermediate part in a transverse direction of the container part, and deployment passages are formed on right and left ends.
