Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve safety of a servo system without interchanging an entire existing servo system to a servo system having a safety function. SOLUTION: In a servo system including a servo motor 2, and a servo amplifier 4 for controlling the drive of the servo motor 2 based on the output of an encoder 3 attached to the servo motor 2, a safety control device 6 is provided for monitoring presence/absence of abnormality based on the output of the encoder 3, and shielding the supply of drive power to the servo motor 2 if abnormality is present, and the monitoring content can be set as setting information.
