Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat roll drive control device that stably drives a motor with the target number of revolutions regardless of accuracy variation due to the eccentricity of an encoder. SOLUTION: The heat roll drive control device has a means for turning on/off the drive motor 15 according to the phase difference between an encoder pulse signal 17 output from the encoder 23 according to an amount of rotation of a drive motor 15 for a heat roll and a reference pulse signal 18 output as a reference for a feed position of the drive motor 15, and includes: a means for creating phase difference data 28 by measuring the time that is a phase difference from the generation of the reference pulse signal 18 to the generation of the encoder pulse signal 17; a means for storing the phase difference data 28 in a memory 29; a means for reading, from the phase difference data 28 stored in the memory 29, present phase difference data 30 and phase difference data 31 that is 180° opposite the present position in terms of the rotation angle of the motor, and calculating the average phase difference data 33 of them; and a means for generating an average phase difference drive signal 38 for turning on the heat roller drive motor 15 by the time corresponding to the average phase difference data 33.
