SOLUTION: The display device includes: a voltage application means; a pixel decision means; and a voltage application control means for controlling the voltage application means such that a first addition period in which a first voltage is applied to a corresponding electrochemical display element based on the decision by the pixel decision means and a second addition period in which a second voltage is applied are repeated alternately.
