Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of inspecting a vehicle for precisely performing the inspection of clutch disengagement for a vehicle including an automatic clutch disengagement function. SOLUTION: The inspection device measures an engine rotational speed of an inspection object and a vehicle speed of the inspection object, and calculates deceleration on the basis of the vehicle speed measured during deceleration operation of the inspection object. The variation amount of the calculated deceleration in a prescribed variation time M4 is determined as deceleration variation amount ΔG, and the engine rotational speed when deceleration variation amount ΔG exceeds a prescribed determination variation amount M5 is determined as a detected disengagement rotational speed D1. The inspection device determines that it is not defective when the detected disengagement rotational speed D1 is within a prescribed determination rotational speed range [J1, J2], and determines that it is defective when the detected disengagement rotational speed D1 is outside the prescribed determination rotational speed range [J1, J2].
