Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a welding rotor attaining enhancement of strength characteristics of a welded area and long useful life in the rotor of a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: Two or more of rotor discs 1 are joined to each other by a conventional welding process using a welded part extending in a radial direction relative to a rotor shaft, and thereafter, the welded area is subjected to heat treatment at a predetermined temperature to remove residual tensile stress by stress relaxing. By setting the welded part 3 of the welding rotor of the gas turbine engine to a non-stress relaxing temperature level outstandingly lower than a heat influence area 2 adjacent to the welded part 3, as a result of a large temperature gradient, the residual compression stress or at least substantially reduced residual tensile stress is applied to the welded part.
