Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear structure capable of preventing a hinge arm from forming an obstacle when storing a luggage, preventing ingress of water in a trunk, and ensuring the large storage volume of the trunk. SOLUTION: The vehicle body rear structure 10 includes right and left pillars 12, 13 provided at the rear of a vehicle body 11, a rear window glass 15 provided between the right and left rear pillars 12, 13, a trunk 17 provided below the rear window glass 15, a lid unit 35 capable of opening/closing a trunk opening 18 of the trunk 17, and right and left hinge mechanisms 36, 37 for supporting the lid unit 35 in an openable/closable manner with respect to the trunk opening 18.
