Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring a recording element or a reproducing element most close to a magnetic disk, in a function to reduce a flying height of a magnetic head using a heating element. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head wherein the heating element 22 is disposed between the recording elements 21, 23 or reproducing elements 20, 24, a flying-surface 3 around the heating element 22 is processed into a depression shape by supplying power to the heating element 22 in a polishing step to process the flying-surface 3 of a slider. Pulsed power is applied for processing, and thus a curvature of a depression portion 3 can be increased. Thereby, the recording elements 21, 23 or reproducing elements 20, 24 can be most projected when the heating element 22 is heated in an actual operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
