Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam turbine plant having further improved plant heat efficiency by raising the temperature of reheated steam to an ultra higher temperature while coping with the higher temperature of the reheated steam to consistently guaranteeing high strength of turbine structural components, and to provide a method for cooling the steam turbine plant. SOLUTION: The steam turbine plant includes a steam generator 9 combined with a steam turbine 1, a condensation system 13, and a water supply system 14. A nozzle box is provided on an intermediate pressure turbine 2 of the steam turbine part 1 for supplying reheated steam from the steam generator 9 via the nozzle box 45. Cooling steam is introduced each into a space between a rotor 30 of the intermediate pressure turbine 2 and an inside casing 28 and into a space between the inside casing 28 and an outside casing 27 for cooling a stage located at least on the most upstream side, out of the nozzle box 45 and the turbine stage 29.
