Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the thickness of a liquid crystal display device in a small liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: A TFT substrate 10 is adhered to a color filter substrate 20; an upper polarizing plate 21 is stuck to the color filter substrate 20; and a lower polarizing plate 11 is stuck to the TFT substrate 10. The TFT substrate 10 has a large thickness t1 in a portion corresponding to a terminal unit 12 and has a small thickness t2 in a portion 13 where the lower polarizing plate 11 is stuck. Thereby, the thickness of the liquid crystal display panel and the thickness of the whole liquid crystal display device can be decreased by t2-t1. Since the color filter substrate 20 is adhered to the portion 13 having the small thickness, mechanical strength of the whole liquid crystal display panel does not decrease drastically.
