Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress uneven abrasion and break even in pressure contact or sliding in contact with a solvent used in various paints. SOLUTION: From a sealing material composition, a sealing material is molded which is used in a coater with a piston mechanism to transfer or spurt paint or a solvent and seals the gap between an inner peripheral face of a cylinder and an outer peripheral face of a piston constituting the piston mechanism of the coater. The sealing material composition contains 100 pts.wt. of a fluorinated elastic body which is a copolymer of a perfluoroolefin, a perfluoromethyl vinyl ether, and a vinyl monomer containing iodine or bromine, 5-15 pts.wt. of carbon black having an iodine adsorption amount of 0-40 g/kg and a DBP absorption amount of 0-60×10-5m3/kg, 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide, and 0.5-2.0 pts.wt. of a co-crosslinking agent.
