Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral composition for treating acne. SOLUTION: There is provided a method of treating acne including orally administrating to patients suffering from acne an effective amount of a whey protein fraction containing lactoferrin, preferably further containing specific whey protein. The lactoferrin is preferably native bovine lactoferrin. The whey protein fraction is administered at a level of 10 mg-2 g lactoferrin per patient per day. There is also provided an oral medicinable composition for treating acne, which is an administration unit selected from tablets, pills, syrups, capsules, solutions, gels and lozenges containing one or more recipients selected from the group consisting of starches, starch derivatives, starch fractions, microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose derivatives, pectin and lactose in the lactoferrin.
