Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which develops a color by a high concentration and is excellent in the storing stability of an imaging part and a non-colored part. SOLUTION: The thermal recording material prepared by forming a thermal color developing layer comprising a coloring substance composed of a colorless or light-colored leuco dye and a color developing agent on a substrate is characterized in that, as the color developing agent, a diphenylsulfone crosslinking type compound in which the total amount of a compound of n=1 and a compound of n=2 in the diphenylsulfone crosslinking type compound expressed by general formula (1) is ≥50 mass%, and at least one diphenylsulfone derivative with a specified structure are incorporated by a ratio of a mass ratio of 80:20-15:85, wherein n is an integer of ≥1.
