Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a surface treatment method for an aluminum wheel which can provide an aluminum wheel having excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: In the surface treatment method for an aluminum wheel, an aluminum wheel not subjected to shot blasting is subjected to etching treatment where an etching amount in an A6061P aluminum material reaches 3 to 15 g/m2using an alkali etching liquid, and is thereafter subjected to a degreasing stage, a water-washing stage, a pickling stage, a water-washing stage, a film-conversion stage, a water-washing stage, pure water-washing stage, a drying stage and a powder coating stage in this order. The alkali etching liquid includes KOH and/or NaOH, a surfactant, the alkali metal salt of condensed phosphoric acid and a chelating agent. The concentration of the KOH and/or NaOH is 10 to 40 g/L in total, while the concentration of the surfactant is 0.5 to 5 g/L, the concentration of the alkali metal salt of condensed phosphoric acid is 1 to 10 g/L and the concentration of the chelating agent is 0.5 to 5 g/L.
