Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a PDP device that is further improved in dark-room contrast by reducing background light emission of even an ALIS system panel such that an electrode of an adjacent cell exists nearby. SOLUTION: In the method of driving the plasma display in which first electrodes X and second electrodes Y extending in a first direction are arranged adjacently by turns, and first and second display lines are formed on both sides of the second electrodes to perform interlaced display wherein those are displayed alternately in different fields, one display field includes a plurality of sub-fields, each of which includes at least a reset period, an address period, and a sustain discharge period. The reset period is provided with at least: a write discharge process; and an erasure discharge process, and a voltage of the write discharge process is made different in some of the sub-fields.
