PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red colored composition for a color filter, which adjusts white color to have a desired color temperature (K) and color difference (Δuv) by adjusting brightness of red without changing chromaticity of three colors, and to provide a color filter formed by using the composition. SOLUTION: The red colored composition for a color filter contains a dye carrier comprising a transparent resin, its precursor or the mixture of them; and a red dye dispersed in the dye carrier, 0.005 to 10 wt.% of a black dye with respect to the whole amount of dyes, or a red dye and 0.01 to 20 wt.% of a green dye with respect to the whole amount of dyes. The color filter includes at least one red filter segment, at least one green filter segment and at least one blue filter segment, and the at least one red filter segment is formed of the red colored composition.
