PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of outputting a high quality print, while keeping the print completion time specified by a user and to provide a printing processing method of the printer. SOLUTION: The printer having a printing means for performing printing according to one of a plurality of printing modes different in printing quality generates bit map data for printing corresponding to each of the plurality of printing modes based on printing data, calculates the print start time corresponding to each of the plurality of printing modes based on the time required for printing the generated bit map data for printing by the printing means and the print completion time for specifying the desired print completion time added to the printing data, decides the printing mode based on the present time, the print completion time and the print start time calculated according to each of the printing modes, and controls the start of the printing by the printing means in the decided printing mode at the print start time corresponding to the decided printing mode.
