Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in a device that charges a photoreceptor by use of a plurality of charging rollers, image formation is inhibited regardless of the presence of charging rollers in a normal state if an abnormal state arises in any one of the charging rollers. SOLUTION: If an abnormal state is detected in any one of the plurality of charging rollers, a charging bias applied to each of the other charging rollers that are in a normal state is adjusted. Charging the photoreceptor by use of the other charging rollers enables image formation carried out after that. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
