PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively treating a waste stuff of a sanitary tissue paper containing a moisturizing component such as glycerol so that the waste stuff can be utilized as a papermaking raw material. SOLUTION: The method for treatment of the waste stuff of the sanitary tissue paper containing the water-soluble moisturizing component comprises: mixing of the waste stuff with water to dissolve the moisturizing component derived from the waste stuff into water, dehydration of the product to recover a solid component containing fibers derived from the waste stuff, and continuous or stepwise return of the recovered solid component to a papermaking system on line. Since the dehydration is carried out after dissolving the moisturizing component, the obtained solid component contains a sufficiently reduced amount of the moisturizing component which forms a nutrition source of microorganisms. Accordingly, the recovered solid component can be returned to an ordinary papermaking system to form paper e.g. by mixing the component with a papermaking raw material composed mainly of a virgin pulp.
