SOLUTION: The external device 10 includes a memory 11 configured to store an external-device identifier that is an identifier of its own device. The memory 11 includes a storage area 11a to store a cryptographic key for copyrighted data. The cryptographic key is not stored in the storage area in the initial state, and the cryptographic key corresponding to the external-device identifier is written to the storage area by a terminal 20.
