Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which includes a protective layer arranged in a liquid crystal cell side and having in-plane retardation Reof nearly zero and retardation Rthin a film thickness direction of nearly zero and is made thin and light and includes excellent durability, and particularly, is suitably used for an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display, and to provide a method for manufacturing the polarizing plate, and the liquid crystal display using the polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes: a polarizing film 51 where a dichroism pigment is adsorbed and oriented to a polyvinyl alcohol resin; a first protective film 52 laminated on one surface of the polarizing film 51 and is composed of a cured product of a curable resin composition containing an active energy ray-curable compound; and a second protective layer 53 laminated on the other side surface of the polarizing film 51 across an adhesive layer 54 and composed of a thermoplastic resin film.
