Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction of cooling efficiency of an on-vehicle radar apparatus even when the scanning angle range during low-speed running is widened. SOLUTION: The vehicle radar apparatus includes: a radar transmission/receiving device for transmitting and receiving a radar signal at each unit angle in a predetermined scanning angle range; and a target object detection means for detecting a target object based on a radar signal transmitted and received at each first unit angle in a first scanning angle range when the vehicle is running at a first speed, and detecting the target object based on a radar signal transmitted and received at each second unit angle, which is wider than the first unit angle, in a second scanning angle range, which is wider than the first scanning angle range, when the vehicle is running at a second speed which is slower than the first speed. The vehicle radar apparatus prevents temperature rise of the signal processing device because the amount of signal processing is low even when a wider range is scanned during low-speed running.
