PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine improving sealing performance of an open close valve of a bypass passage. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 1 includes a supercharger supercharging the engine. The bypass passage 62 for bypassing a turbine and the open close valve 63 opening and closing the bypass passage 62 are provided at an exhaust gas passage of the engine. In this internal combustion engine 1, the open close valve 63 is closed by contact of a contact surface 631a of a valve body 631 of the open close valve 63 and a contact surface 621a of a port part 621 of the bypass passage 62. The contact surface 631a of the valve body 631 moves in roughly parallel to the contact surface 621a of the port part 621 to change a distance between the port part 621 and the contact surface 621a by slide displacement of the valve body 631.
