Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any unnecessary image formation processing due to the setting error of a user by surely confirming a finish state by preview. SOLUTION: Finish state information 71 showing a finish state of paper is simultaneously displayed in addition to a preview image 51 showing an entire page of image data on a preview screen 50 before performing image formation as shown in Fig.(A). The finish state information 71 is displayed, for example, as "both sides: front side 1" indicating to be the first page in both side printing. In addition thereto, an icon 72 indicating to be a front side in both side printing is displayed at the same time. This display allows the user to recognize that a setting of both side printing is performed and image data of the current preview image 51 is the front side of the first page in the both side printing.
