PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation system, a program and an information storage medium, for properly expressing the brightness of an image with a small processing load. SOLUTION: This image generation system for adjusting the brightness of an image includes: a brightness detection part 124 for detecting the brightness of an image based on the colors of pixels configuring an image; an adjustment rate setting part 126 for setting adjustment rate according to the brightness of the image; and a color adjustment part 128 for adjusting the colors of the pixels configuring the image based on the adjustment rate. When the brightness of the image is darker than a first threshold, the adjustment rate setting part 126 sets the adjustment rate so as to increase the brightness of the colors of the pixels, and when the brightness of the image is higher than a second threshold, the adjustment rate setting part 126 sets the adjustment rate so as to darken the colors of the pixels.
