Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber without deteriorating workability when press-fitting a spring guide into a protector and without preventing a reduction in production cost. SOLUTION: In this press-fitting part structure in the spring guide, the press fitting part 21 of the spring guide 2 for inwardly press-fitting a cylindrical or annular connected part 3 around the outer periphery of a cylinder 1 has reduced diameter parts 21a formed in a plurality of portions at appropriate intervals in a peripheral direction and brought in tight contact with the outer peripheral surface of the connected part 3 with inside diameters reduced. The outer peripheral surface of the connected part 3 is formed into a complete round or a complete round shape; meanwhile, the inner peripheral surface of the press fitting part 21 of the spring guide 2 except for the reduced diameter parts 21a is separated from the outer peripheral surface of the connected part, and also each of the reduced diameter parts 21a has an arcuate surface with an inner peripheral surface matched with the outer peripheral surface of the connected part 3.
