Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive lighting system for photographing for uniformly illuminating a plane subject such as a TLC plate or electrophoresis gel at an illumination ratio of 90% or higher using a fluorescent lamp of a short arc tube in order to obtain image data available for quantitative analysis. SOLUTION: This lighting system for photographing includes at least one pair of straight tube fluorescent lamps of an arc tube length between 210 and 330 mm arranged in parallel with the plane subject in upper right and left sides of the plane subject, and a pair of reflectors arranged perpendicularly to the axis of the fluorescent lamps and the plane subject in front of and at the back of the plane subject.
