Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new luminous gel which can be produced in a simple process and has excellent luminous characteristics and to provide a method for producing the luminous gel, and an ECL (electrochemical light emitting) element using the luminous gel. SOLUTION: The luminous gel is held by a polymer network structure formed by an addition reaction of a first polyfunctional monomer having three or more hydrosilyl, alkynyl or alkenyl groups in the molecule thereof with a second polyfunctional monomer having two or more hydrosilyl, alkynyl or alkenyl groups in the molecule thereof in the presence of a luminous solution composed of an organic solvent and a low molecular weight light emitting material.
