Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device and an electric motor used therefor capable of reducing a tooth hitting noise between a worm and a worm wheel engaged therewith while having a configuration in which a worm shaft is integrated into the shaft of the electric motor, suppressing the increase of sound and vibration in the electric motor, and further suppressing the cogging torque and the torque ripple of the electric motor. SOLUTION: In the worm shaft 20, the worm 21 is formed integrally with the output shaft 163 of the electric motor 15. The worm shaft 20 is rotatably supported by two bearings 152 and 162 in the electric motor 15, and the tip of the worm shaft 20 on the worm side is rotatably supported by a third bearing 22a arranged in a worm storage part 22 of a speed reduction gear box 14 attaching the electric motor. Thus the worm shaft 20 is supported at three points with three bearings. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
