Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent locking condition of a lock device from being released by an impact applied from above. SOLUTION: An instrument panel is provided with the lock device which holds the closed state of a glove box 15 by inserting a pair of rod members 43 capable of advancing and retreating in the vehicle width direction in locations closer to both the sides of the top reverse surface of a lid 19 into insert holes 45 formed in both sidewall parts 13a at the top of an opening 13 provided in the instrument panel body 5 (lower panel on the passenger seat side) through the advancing motion of the rod members 43, and releases the closed state of the glove box 15 by separating the rod members 43 from the insert holes 45 through the retreating motion. A separation hindering mechanism 47 hinders the rod members 43 from separating from the insert holes 45 when an impact is applied from above to the instrument panel body 5 located above the glove box 15.
