Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod body in which hardness is improved and high volumetric density and high corrosion resistance can be obtained by ionizing metal atoms or the like forming a decorative layer. SOLUTION: A negative electrode 4 equipped with a raw material for emitting atoms and/or molecules forming the decorative layer under vacuum pressure is arranged and a positive electrode 5 is arranged at a position facing the negative electrode 4. A discharging state is produced by applying DC voltage between both the electrodes. Thereby high energized atoms appear by being ionized on a surface of the negative electrode 4 and ionized atoms and/or molecules are stuck and piled on an outer peripheral surface of a rod raw material 1 to form the decorative layer.
