Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method of manufacturing a rotor shaft, which can secure the necessary extraction load of the rotor and can guarantee the quality after caulking fixation by being able to fix a rotor to a shaft by caulking even in case that the outside diameter of the rotor is small thereby lessening the caulking load. SOLUTION: This method has a caulking fixation process, in which the rotor 12 is caulked and fixed to the shaft 11 under conditions of Δc=T-Δt, when defined that the clearance between a punch 16, which applies load in its radial direction to the radial end on the opposite side from a groove 11b in a caulking plate 13 by making an ascending and descending motion in the axial direction of the rotor 12, and the shaft 11 is clearance Δc between the punch and the shaft, that the thickness of a section to which radial load is applied by the punch 16 in the caulking plate 13 is thickness T for a fixing member, and the depth where the thickness of the caulking plate 13 in the groove 11b is accommodated is Δt.
