Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode assembly to prevent the occurrence of an internal short circuit, a secondary battery utilizing the same and a manufacturing method for the electrode assembly, with reference to a pouch-type lithium secondary battery, a square lithium secondary battery, and a cylindrical lithium secondary battery. SOLUTION: The electrode assembly, the second battery using the same, and the manufacturing method for the second battery are provided. The electrode assembly includes: a case; a first electrode with a first coating portion formed where a first electrode active material layer is coated, and at least one first electrode non-coating portion formed; a second electrode with a second coating portion formed where a second electrode active material layer is coated, and at least one second electrode non-coating portion formed; a separator interposed between the first and the second electrodes; a first electrode tab connected to the first electrode non-coating portion of the first electrode; a second electrode tab connected to the second electrode non-coating portion of the second electrode; and at least one lamination layer formed in the first and/or the second electrode non-coating portion, covering at least one of the first and the second electrode non-coating portions.
