PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety apparatus for a level difference eliminating device for securing safety of a person moving a traveling body, and being easily operated by himself. SOLUTION: The safety apparatus A of the level difference eliminating device is provided at the level difference eliminating device, and includes falling prevention fences 6 on both left/right sides of a base 1, turnable shutting off rods 61, 62 on both front and rear sides of the falling prevention fences 6 to prevent a wheelchair user 5 placed on the base 1 from falling, a movable body detection sensor 1a detecting that the wheelchair user 5 is placed on the base, shutting off rod detection sensors 61s, 62s detecting that the respective shutting off rods 61, 62 are set to a closing state, and a control device 10 disabling raise and fall operation of the base 1 unless the shutting off rod detection sensors 61s, 62s are operated while the movable body detection sensor 1a is working, and enabling the raise and fall operation of the base 1 while the movable body detection sensor 1a is not working.
