Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a coating rubber composition for use in conveyor belts as a coating rubber-forming material used in the bonding between a conveyor belt and a canvas and/or between canvases mutually, which composition is capable of giving a vulcanizate improved in both the peeling strength between a cover rubber and a canvas or between canvases mutually and the rubber deposition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition, in which a diene-based rubber is blended with such a carbon black and calcium carbonate as fillers, is characterized in that a coating rubber composition for use in conveyor belts, which uses a blend rubber comprising 83.0-97.5 mass% of a diene-based rubber and 2.5-17.0 mass% of a rubber component of a reclaimed rubber, uses, on the basis of 100 pts.mass of the blend rubber, 45-75 pts.mass of a carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 30-50 m2/g and a DBP oil absorption of 95-125 ml/100 g and also uses 5-50 pts.mass of calcium carbonate.
