PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for cutting food dough, capable of precisely cutting the food dough in a prescribed weight from a long food dough even when a separating powder or the like sticks to a weighing conveyor or the like. SOLUTION: The apparatus for cutting the food dough cuts the long food dough LM by a cutter 73 installed between a weighing conveyor 69 and a downstream conveyor 71 when the weight of the long food dough LM previously measured on the weighing conveyor 69 is reduced by a prescribed weight when the long food dough LM is delivered onto the downstream conveyor 71 installed so as to neighbor to the weighing conveyor 69. The apparatus cuts the long food dough LM by pushing one side part of the long food dough LM by a dough-holding member 99 installed between the weighing conveyor 69 and the downstream conveyor 71 so as to be reciprocally movable in the contacting and parting direction based on the long food dough LM, and allowing a cutting blade 103 installed so as to face the dough-holding member 99 to act from the other side part of the long food dough LM.
