PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking supporting machine which enables persons who has healthy upper limbs and can not move because of disorders in lower limbs to move independently in a daily life space. SOLUTION: The walking supporting machine (100) for supporting walking of people is equipped with: a pair of crutches (1) which are operated by hands of a user and loaded with his/her weight; a pair of extending and contracting links (3) which extend and contract; a sole plate (9) which is mounted on the lower end part of the extending and contracting links (3) for placing feet of the user on it; an actuator (6) for extending and contracting the extending and contracting links (3); and a control device (30) for controlling the walking supporting machine (100). Upper end parts of the crutches (1) and upper end parts of the extending and contracting links (3) are respectively connected though a pair of rotatable elements (2).
