Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel vapor control system and a control method can improve oxygen preservation capacity of a purifier without increasing fuel consumption at the restart of a vehicle and improve purification capacity for nitrogen oxide of the purifier, in a vehicle adopting an idling stop and go system. SOLUTION: When oxygen preservation capacity of the purifier is an established value or below when restarting an engine from a stopped state, fuel vapor supplied to an intake passage is effectively used by adjusting an amount of fuel (Fr) injected to a combustion chamber at the restart according to a second amount of fuel (Fa) added to purge the purifier and a first amount of fuel (Va) included in fuel vapor supplied to the intake passage by collecting it from a fuel tank, and the purification capacity for the nitrogen oxide of the purifier is improved by reducing fuel consumption.
