PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device equipped with a recording medium conveying device causing no conveyance bending or slack of a recording medium caused by a difference between conveyance amounts of a conveying roller in an axial direction. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording device has the recording medium conveying device that catches and conveys the recording medium P by the conveying roller 1 which is driven by a drive means, and is provided on a surface with a plurality of projections, and a press roller 2 arranged opposite to the conveying roller 1, and a record means recording an image by discharging ink to the recording medium P. In the recording medium conveying device, the press roller 2 is divided into a plurality of rollers along its axial direction, each of the divided press rollers 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d is provided with a pressing force vary means for varying a pressing force to the recording medium, biting amounts of the projections into the recording medium are varied by varying pressing forces of the divided press rollers 2a, 2b, 2c, 2s by the pressing force vary means so that the conveyance amounts of the recoding medium are varied in the axial direction of the conveying roller 1.
