Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical bioinstrumentation apparatus providing measurement data from a portion of the brain intended to be measured by determining the arrangement positions of a light transmission probe and a light receiving probe, and to provide a holder arrangement support system used therefor. SOLUTION: This optical bioinstrumentation apparatus includes: a correspondence relationship data creation section 36 creating correspondence relationship data indicating the correspondence relationship between three reference positions and three reference position images; a holder magnetic sensor 14 fixed to the holder 11; an arrangement position relationship data acquisition section 37 that acquires arrangement position relationship data indicating the position relationship among a magnetic field source 4, the light transmission probe 12 and the light receiving probe 13; and an arrangement position relationship image display control section 38 superimposedly displaying arrangement position relationship images 25 and 26 corresponding to the arrangement positions of the light transmission probe 12 and the light receiving probe 13 in a scalp surface image 24a and a brain surface image 24b; and, when the arrangement positions of the light transmission probe 12 and the light receiving probe 13 on the scalp surface are changed, this apparatus is operatively connected thereto and updatingly displays the arrangement position relationship images 25 and 26.
