Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control method for a lithium-ion secondary battery having excellent cycle performance while inhibiting pulverization of an active material and exfoliation and falling-off of the active material from a current collector. SOLUTION: The charge control method is used for a lithium-ion secondary battery that has a negative electrode in which silicon that can be alloyed with lithium is used as an active material and an alkoxysilyl-group-containing resin having a specific structure is used as a binder resin. The charge capacity of the negative electrode is used in a range that the volume change of the silicon due to alloying of the lithium is less than or equal to 2.5 times of the volume of a silicon single body or the charge capacity is controlled so as to be ≤0.3 of a theoretical capacity ratio of the silicon.
