Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying polymers that can suppress lowering in molecular weight of polymers and can effectively reduce the amount of a residual catalyst which stays in a polymer. SOLUTION: A polymer containing a residual catalyst is brought into contact with an organic acid-containing organic solvent having a pKa value in the range of 2 to 3.9, whereby the amount of the catalyst, which stays in the polymer, can be reduced and the polymer can be purified.
