Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a failure occurrence rate by preventing erroneous judgement on satellite-sensor failure; to enhance reliability of failure judgement. SOLUTION: A passenger protection control device which is connected to satellite sensors installed at predetermined positions of a vehicle via buses, and performs an activation control of a passenger protection device on the basis of collision value data transmitted from the satellite sensors. The passenger protection control device is provided with a sensor-power-source switching means which switches on and off power supplied to the satellite sensors to each bus, and a control means which re-transmits an initialization command after performing one or more times a power re-supplying operation of the bus that has not returned response data by controlling the sensor-power-source switching means until a predetermined amount of time elapses while determining the satellite sensors to be out of order in the case where the initialization command is transmitted to each bus as an initialization process on the satellite sensors, and the response data corresponding to the initialization command is not returned even if a predetermined amount of time elapses.
