Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination light incoming part of an endoscope having good durability where a glass rod fitted and fixed with a metallic glass rod coating tube is not broken due to the difference of thermal expansion with the glass rod coating tube under a high temperature. SOLUTION: In the illumination light incoming part of the endoscope, in which the metallic glass rod coating tube 7a is fitted and fixed to a glass rod 7 mounted opposite to the light incoming side surface of a light guide fiber bundle 6 for transmitting a light beam bundle radiated from a light source to the light guide fiber bundle 6, and the metallic glass rod coating tube 7a is formed of a titanium pipe material.
