Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive backing paper for plastic wallpaper which is not only excellent in printability with slight defects after polyvinyl chloride coating operation which is caused by base paper fluffings, but also excellent in peelability in reapplication in peeling wallpaper off the wall. SOLUTION: The backing paper for wallpaper formed of a pulp-containing paper base material, wherein the paper base material contains 0.3-0.5 mass% of a wet paper strengthening agent and 0.3-0.5 mass% of a rosin sizing agent.
