Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step bolt attached to a predetermined structure arranged under acidic environment, wherein the step bolt includes high corrosion resistance by which a long life can be expected, and it can guarantee operator's safety because development of rust is relatively small even when it corrodes, making it possible for the operator to view the thinning. SOLUTION: The step bolt for applying self-weight of an operator which is attached to a predetermined structure exposed to rain water and arranged under acidic environment is formed of ferritic stainless steel comprising Fe as a main component and Cr, wherein Cr is contained, by mass%, within a predetermined range to suppress the growth of a rust layer in the step bolt to such an extent that it allows the thinning state during corrosion to be visualized.
