Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that procalcitonin formed in the case of sepsis is provisionally and generally regarded as the same as a calcitonin precursor, therefore, a peptide (procalcitonin 1-116) having a known procalcitonin sequence of 116 amino acids, as analysis assay methods have not clarified the difference between known procalcitonin as the calcitonin precursor and procalcitonin formed in the case of sepsis. SOLUTION: Recombinant procalcitonin 3-116 can be used for diagnosis and treatment of sepsis and as a marker in measuring prohormones except procalcitonin and dipeptidyl peptidase IV, as well as in diagnosing sepsis.
