Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for identifying a chord with high accuracy, without performing complicated operation. SOLUTION: A vector storage section 101 stores a learning vector 100 for expressing a feature of one musical tone which is input by grouping it. A hyper-plane calculation device 102 calculates a hyper-plane for each group by using the learning vector 100 belonging to the group. A parameter for expressing the hyper-plane is stored in one of corresponding storage devices 111 to 114. Evaluation devices 121 to 124 refer to the parameter of the corresponding storage devices 111 to 114, and calculates a determination object vector 150 for expressing the chord and a distance including positive/negative between the vector and the corresponding hyper-plane, as an evaluation value. A determination device 130 determines a group to which a musical tone constituting the chord expressed by the determination object vector 150 belongs, from the evaluation value.
