Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving unit that is made small in size and performs high ratio optical zooming, and a lens driving device. SOLUTION: The lens driving unit slidably moves a lens group holding frame that holds a lens group for an imaging apparatus in the optical axis direction of the lens by using a motor. The lens group holding frame is supported to be able to slide by connecting to a guide pole arranged in parallel with the optical axis, and includes a drive transmission means consisting of a pinion mounted on the output shaft of the motor and rotates in the rotating direction of the output shaft of the motor and a rack attached to the lens group holding frame, for transmitting the driving force of the motor to the lens group holding frame by engaging the pinion with the rack. The lens driving unit that slidably moves the lens group holding frame along the guide pole by means of the drive transmission means, and the lens driving device comprising the lens driving unit are provided.
