Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag, and a method for manufacturing an airbag, in which coming-off of a base fabric panel can be restricted. SOLUTION: Two base fabric panels 11 and 12 are bound to each other by resilient seal material 15 through a seal material applying process for applying the elastic seal material 15 along peripheral edge parts of one base fabric panel 11 continuously in the form of a thick strip, a base fabric combining process for combining the other base fabric panel 12 over the base fabric panel 11 on which the elastic seal material 15 is applied in such a way that the elastic seal material 15 is held, and a seal material compression process for pressurizing the peripheral edge parts of the two base fabric panels 11 and 12 combined with each other in such a way that an enlarged thick part 15T that is the thickest at an inner side end 15inE, and gradually gets thinner for a specified section S from the inner side end 15inE outward is formed at an inside part 15in of the elastic seal material 15.
